My name is Peter Edgar Graham MD, and it is with a sincere gratitude to the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has given me the privilege of exploring and discovering the beauty of His ways; His Goodness; His Providence and His great Love as bestowed on us, in Jesus Christ our Lord.
As a practicing medical oncologist, I was always exposed to the words of hope and faith in the treatment of cancer patients. These words had become platitudinous and trite, being bandied around within the cancer treatment environment, without the slightest understanding of their meanings. It only made us feel better that we were seemingly encouraging our distressed patients, and thereby providing good cancer care.
But faith and hope are issues that are much more profound, and I needed to get to the basis of this profundity.
Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus……making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and understanding in the knowledge, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know the hope of His calling. (Ephesians 1: 15-18 NKJV)
